Tom Brady Destination Prediction

I’m long overdue for this but since the legal tampering period is coming up next week, I figured this is the time to write this. We’ve all herd the “experts” saying where Brady will go. I’ve been consistent in saying since last year when the Patriots won the Super Bowl he’d go to the Chargers. I’ve had a strong gut feeling he wants to go play in California. I’ve herd 49ers being thrown around but I don’t believe San Francisco will sacrifice say 10 years of Garoppolo for maybe 2 of Tom Brady. Garoppolo in his first healthy season helped lead his team to the Super Bowl. Yes he didn’t look very good in the second half mostly 4th quarter but I still think he’s their best bet. Titans sound to be front runners but I honestly think they’re to invested in Ryan Tannehill. They traded a 7th round pick for him and also received a 6th in return if I remember correctly. I don’t think he’s worth the franchise tag which will be around $33 million for a QB, but given the system Vrabel has and assuming they keep Derrick Henry, Tannehill with a full season with that squad is probably their best bet. I don’t agree with the money then again any QB makes a stupid amount of money. Hell Teddy Bridgewater who went 5-0 mostly due to the Saints defense is estimated to get $30+ million a year. But in the end I see Brady going to the Chargers. They’ll probably offer him 2 year $60 mil most if not all guaranteed. Plus the fact Patriots have had since the middle of January to talk to Brady and only thing I’ve herd is 1 phone call between Brady and Belichick that supposedly didn’t go well. Tom thank you for 20 years here but it’s time to move on. All great things must come to an end.

Celtics Trade Deadline

So I wanted to make sure that there were reports that Celtics made no moves at the trade deadline again. Why? I mean you’re in contention this year, why not move guys like Ojeleye, Wanamaker, Langford, hell you’ve got 3 1st round picks currently projected to be 17, 26, and 30. Why does Ainge value all these guys so much and these picks? Plus do you really plan on using all the picks? You’re not going to be able to put them with the Red Claws you’ll have to stash em in Europe. Seeing some other deals and how low of a cost they were is more infuriating that Boston didn’t make a move. Even the Cleveland Cavaliers made an addition in Andre Drummond essentially giving an end of the bench guy and a future 2nd round pick. I’m sorry but 95% of Celtics fans and the front office are happy just making the playoffs. Since when did Boston turn soft and say oh well we’re in the playoffs anything can happen right? That’s true for NHL but NBA when was the last time a mid level team didn’t go to the Finals or even win it? Last I remember I believe Celtics were a 4 seed when they lost in 7 to the Lakers a series they should’ve won. It doesn’t happen in NBA, you need talent. Milwaukee I think is vulnerable, Giannis hasn’t driven to the rim as much since he’s not very good at the free throw line, foul him make him shoot free throws, make others beat you. Still don’t think Boston gets by em but if they added a big, maybe.

Mookie Betts Trade

I was expecting it to happen, I was hoping for much more of a return. Red Sox dealing Betts and David Price in what shouldn’t be considered a salary dump considering they’re still paying half ($48 million) of his salary to the Dodgers in what turned out to be a 3 team deal. In return they get Alex Verdugo a 23 year lefty outfielder. From Minnesota a 21 year old pitcher Brusdar Graterol. Verdugo I think has potential, I’m expecting him to play left field and move Benintendi to right field. Being a lefty at Fenway can help him with that short right field. Graterol I don’t know anything about, all I know is he’s 21, 6’1 265. To me that sounds like old Red Sox pitcher Rich Garces with that frame. What concerns me is he’s only 21 and has put on 40 pounds. Overall I think it’s a pretty bad trade. If you’re paying half of Price salary, why not keep him? If you’re getting such a small return for Betts, why not keep him or wait until the July 31st deadline see where you are and see who will get stupid desperate and pay too much for him. I’m not a fan of the deal at all overall. Still one lingering question, who’s going to be the next manager? Hopefully find out soon. I’m hoping for Buck Showalter personally.

Super Bowl LIV Reaction

Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on an amazing victory and playoff run. 31-20 final, overcame 24 point deficit to Houston, 10 point to both Tennessee and San Francisco. That’s an amazing feat. Mahomes proved why he’s the future of the NFL and guess what, the future is now. Threw 2 interceptions and just bounced back and led the team on a drive to take a 23-20 lead late 4th. Overall reaction, as expected Kansas City woke up in 2nd half, the defense came up big when they needed to. Congratulations to Andy Reid on finally getting his Super Bowl and cementing his legacy. Overall a great game, questionable calls on both sides, but overall just a typical Kansas City Chiefs game.

Super Bowl LIV Halftime Thoughts

10-10 halftime score. Both teams are playing their hearts out no doubt, I do however have concerns from both sides. Kansas City mainly the 2nd down play where Mahomes throws to Williams, it looked almost like he gave up on the play expecting a flag. Had he turned his head, Williams could have likely had a TD and that would’ve made the score 14-3. KC ended up settling for a FG making it 10-3. San Francisco with 59 seconds, 3 timeouts from your own 20, was content to run the clock out go to halftime tied, big mistake. Kansas City can score in a heartbeat at any given moment. San Francisco got a big 3rd down play but was left with 14 seconds left. Had a 43 yard competition to Kittle but offensive PI negated that so instead of 13-10 lead, it’s 10-10. Both teams leaving points on the board, expect them to open up and be more aggressive in the 2nd half. Kansas City more blitz packages, San Francisco probably has more trick plays, maybe utilize Sanders little more with some deep passes when KC brings the pressure.

Super Bowl LIV Prediction

San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs. Ideal matchup between arguably the most complete team vs most complete player. No matter who wins the toss I’m assuming KC is getting the ball first. 49ers will defer or Chiefs will want Mahomes to get on the field right away. Chiefs are going to want to get ahead early, 49ers can’t afford to fall behind or behind by much. We all know Chiefs can score fast and often. So first half I think 49ers defense will be ready and able to contain KC, 49ers offense will definitely have to be more balanced. Halftime I’m thinking around 14-10 San Francisco. 2nd half as we’ve seen so often Mahomes turns it on. But in the end my final is San Francisco 31 Kansas City 27. Garoppolo goes 17-26 273 yards 2 TD 1 INT gets MVP. Dark horse MVP candidate, Nick Bosa. He can single handedly cause mayhem for any opposing QB including Mahomes. Mahomes I’ll say 21-30 315 yards 3 TD 1 INT also runs for 40 yards. Overall an amazing game, looking forward to see how it turns out.
